This fall has once again provided enough food for thought and so will this winter issue. This issue is marked by one central theme and two of the world’s biggest events, namely the UEFA EURO and the Olympic Games, which are both discussed in detail in 2007’s fourth and final issue. The central ‘theme’ is sponsorship, as this issue features four articles on the topic. The first of
these articles is an in-depth look at Europe’s sponsorship industry, which is now worth €7,785 million having grown by 37% so far this decade.
I would once again like to express my sincerest gratitude to all the contributors to this issue.
May I take this opportunity to wish all our readers and contributors a very merry Christmas and a happy 2008!
Yours in sport,
Maaike Denkers
